Le minoxidil à 0,1 % a-t-il un effet ?
À 0,1 %, les résultats divergent : +25,9 cheveux sur un cercle de 5,1 cm² contre +15 sous placebo en 26 semaines (Shupack 1987), mais +81 contre +81 sous placebo dans l'autre essai (Olsen 1986).
Pourquoi ce niveau de preuve
Point de départ élevé : deux essais randomisés dose-réponse, à risque de biais élevé. Dégradé de deux niveaux, pour risque de biais et incohérence : un effet significatif dans un essai, aucun écart dans l'autre.
Niveau abaissé pour : risque de biais, résultats discordants entre essais.
La conclusion pourrait changer avec des essais de meilleure qualité.

There was no sta- tistically significant difference between the 2% and 1% topical minoxidil groups in terms of mean change in nonvellus or total hair counts from base- line to the end of this study.
