Ajouter du finastéride topique 0,1 % au minoxidil 5 %, dans une même solution, ne change pas significativement la repousse en 12 semaines chez 40 hommes indonésiens atteints d'alopécie androgénétique (Lubis 2025, un seul essai de solidité moyenne) : +35,8 cheveux gagnés par cm² contre +32,8 sous minoxidil seul. Les démangeaisons (60 % contre 35 %) et les pellicules (45 % contre 20 %) sont plus fréquentes avec l'association, mais ces écarts peuvent être dus au hasard (113 et).
