Ajouter des séances de laser de basse intensité 785 nm en cabinet au minoxidil 5 % augmente nettement la densité chez 50 hommes et femmes de 17 à 45 ans atteints d'alopécie androgénétique : après un an, le gain de densité atteint +78,3 % et les cheveux épaissis +45,4 %, mieux qu'avec un peigne laser éteint associé au minoxidil 5 % (001 et, Faghihi 2018). Une rougeur du cuir chevelu n'apparaît que chez 1 patient sur 23. Ce résultat vient d'un seul essai de fiabilité limitée : c'est un indice, à confirmer.
