Appliqué par microneedling en deux séances à un mois d'intervalle, avec un traitement de fond (finastéride 1 mg chez l'homme, cyprotérone chez la femme), le PRP ne se distingue pas significativement du PRP en injections avec le même traitement de fond (Nilforoushzadeh 2025). En 13 semaines, le gain de densité est de +95,18 % contre +64,69 % et celui des cheveux épaissis de +51,8 % contre +76,64 % ; 69 % des patients se disent très satisfaits contre 58 %, sans que cet écart soit testé. Un seul essai de fiabilité limitée, chez 40 hommes et femmes de 18 à 50 ans atteints d'alopécie androgénétique : des indices à confirmer.
