En bref

Deux essais chez l'homme, de fiabilité limitée, ont opposé directement ces traitements. Le finastéride oral 1 mg y fait mieux sur un an : 80 % des hommes voient leurs cheveux repousser contre 52 % sous minoxidil topique 5 % (Arca 2004), et 80,5 % contre 59 % (Hu 2015), sans que cet écart soit testé ; la note d'évolution est meilleure sous finastéride (2,6 contre 3,76 points, Arca 2004). À 13 semaines, les deux font jeu égal (39 % contre 38,5 %, Hu 2015).
