Minoxidil 5 % seul (placebo ajouté)

Le minoxidil 5 % associé à un placebo sert de groupe de référence dans deux essais de fiabilité moyenne. Chez des femmes de 20 à 50 ans atteintes d'alopécie androgénétique, les vrais cheveux (hors duvet) de la zone frontale passent de 107,87 à 197,36 par cm² en 24 semaines, sans différence significative avec l'ajout de cétirizine 1 %, et 17 femmes sur 27 sont nettement améliorées (Bassiouny 2023). Chez des hommes, la part de vrais cheveux monte en 6 semaines de 63,28 à 77,95 % et de 56,61 à 83,47 % dans les deux groupes témoins d'un essai qui testait un milieu conditionné de cellules souches, non concentré puis concentré (Legiawati 2023). Ce sont des indices, à confirmer.

Group 1 showed excellent response in 16 patients, very good in 7, good in 2 and no change in one patient, while in group 2, 17 patients showed excellent response, 6 were very good, 4 were good and one patient showed no change. Fisher’s exact showed statistically insignificant difference between groups.
